Designed an additive-manufactured 316L stainless steel heat sink to cool a source providing constant power under forced convection at two air velocities in a vertical enclosure
Judged by (1) mass of heat sink and (2) difference in temperature at center of heat sink compared to ambient temperature
Simulated design in StarCCM+ to validate design results
Built replica of testing setup to compare actual results with simulation
Did not advance to final round due to manufacturability of design
Skills Developed: CAD (NX), CFD Simulation (StarCCM+), Heat Transfer Concepts, Testing/Validation
